Welcome to the Queen’s University College of Medicine! I am pleased to welcome you to the 2021-2022 academic year. Your time here promises to be exciting, challenging, and a wonderful start to a career in medicine. The college has much to offer in terms of student-centered support and nurturing: our faculty and staff are ready to help students prepare to be physicians and meet the health care needs of individuals and families worldwide. Our goal as an institution is to teach with creativity and dedication. We emphasize student engagement in active, self-directed learning and community service.
We are proud of our small medical community. We seek to learn from each other by valuing and respecting the diversity of the students from many countries, cultures, perspectives, and experiences. The secret to our success is simple. We infuse professionalism into everything we do. We value our students and our community. We want the very best for you. We want you to be successful.
As Dean of the College, I am responsible for academic, curricular resources, and administrative offices on the campus. I also oversee the academic quality, standards, and policies of Queen’s University College of Medicine in the classroom and in the community.
My goal is to have a safe nonthreatening beautiful environment for you to study medicine comfortably. I look forward to welcoming you into our Island community as we create the future of tomorrow’s doctors – as partners.
With my best wishes,
